How to Join the Mammoth Lakes Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (MLBOR)

Mammoth Lakes Board of REALTORS®, Inc. is a non-reciprocal Board.
A properly completed MLBOR application is required, along with a copy of B.R.E. or O.R.E.A. license, legal identification, etc. (see checklist on application). All dues and fees, including a $100.00 non-refundable administration fee must be submitted by the Broker applicant on behalf of the broker and/or licensee(s) to the MLBOR office. All applicants must be a Broker and/or Appraiser to join or a Licensee joining with a supervising Broker. All new membership applications will be reviewed by the MLBOR Membership or MLS Committee and will be processed within a 20-day evaluation period. All membership dues and/or MLS fees are to be paid in full or member benefits and/or MLS access will not be granted, and the required orientation will not be scheduled.
As the Broker, if you have Licensees working for you who will not subscribe to the MLBOR MLS, MLBOR requires a certification of non-use from you certifying that these Licensees and Unlicensed Clerical will not use the MLS and MLS data in anyway. MLS Rule(s) 5.1.2, 5.1.5 and 5.1.6.
Brokers conducting business within Mono County must obtain a business license from the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Contact the Town offices directly at (760) 934-8989 ext. 243 or at www.ci.mammoth-lakes.ca.us for filing information.
Per MLBOR Bylaws: Applicants for REALTOR® membership and provisional REALTOR® members (where applicable) shall complete an orientation program on the Code of Ethics, meeting the minimum criteria established by N.A.R. for new member ethics training. This requirement does not apply to applicants for REALTOR® membership or provisional members who have completed comparable orientation in another Association, provided that REALTOR® membership has been continuous, or that any break in membership is for one year or less. Failure to satisfy this requirement within 30 days of the date of application (or alternatively, the date that provisional membership was granted), will result in denial of the membership application or termination of provisional membership.
Orientation is required for new MLS Participants and Subscribers. Failure to complete orientation will result in suspension of membership. Currently, orientation is online and information will be provided by the Association Executive.
Applicants applying for other than Primary Board or Association participation agree to supply their NRDS membership number. A "Letter of Good Standing" from their Primary Board or Association is required and must include the completion date of orientation and confirmation that all NAR, C.A.R. and Primary Board or Association dues are current at the time of submitting the application to MLBOR.
